Paula Fleming has a master’s degree in European History from Northwestern University. She has fact-checked and copyedited test preparation books for Advanced Placement exams in US, European, and world history. She has also copyedited books as varied as Larry S. Gibson’s scholarly Young Thurgood: The Making of a Supreme Court Justice (Prometheus Books, 2012); Greyson Beights’s illustrated compendium of medieval English history for intellectually curious children, Medieval LEGO (No Starch Press, 2015); and Steven L. Danver and John R. Burch’s reference volume Encyclopedia of Water Politics and Policy in the United States (CQ Press, 2011).
Doug McNair worked for five years as chief development editor for Avalanche Press, a publisher of military history books and games. There he worked with authors and game designers, reviewing, fact-checking, and editing their manuscripts and game rules. He also wrote and developed new content to ensure complete and accurate coverage of historical subjects. Since joining Fleming Editorial Services, Doug has done expert content and standards review for high school history and US government textbooks, their supplemental online resources, and their test bank questions.
Our associate Nat Case who designs books for our self-publishing authors, has over 20 years’ experience as a cartographer, a field that has allowed him to exercise his passions for art, history, books, and information of all sorts. His projects have included maps of the Titanic and historical walking tours of the Harvard Square area of Cambridge, Massachusetts, both for Hedberg Maps, and he is currently working on a map showing the evolution over time of Carleton College’s Arboretum in Northfield, Minnesota. He would love to design and produce your history book.
